Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoots, calibrates, maintains and where needed, disinfects dialysis related equipment per manufacturer's recommended procedures including, but not limited to dialysis machines, blood pressure monitors, bicarbonate/acid system, water treatment equipment, and reuse equipment. Performs manufacturer recommended preventive maintenance
- Maintains accurate records of all repairs and maintenance performed on dialysis related equipment.
- Obtains required consent before performing any modifications to medical, water treatment, plumbing or wiring equipment.
- Refers repairs on non-dialysis-specific equipment to the BioMed Department.
- Ensures inventory levels of supplies, tools and test equipment on dialysis related equipment are maintained and initiates replacement orders as required.
- Performs electrical safety testing on all dialysis related equipment.
- Performs water system maintenance and testing
- Experience maintaining Main RO as well as portable RO’s required
- Knowledge of all regulatory codes for Dialysis and Water treatment
- Ability to train and supervise other technicians on the service of Dialysis machines and Water treatment units
Requirements:
- Strong technical skills in the area of dialysis and water treatment
- Minimum of three (3) years of equipment maintenance experience, preferred.
- Successful completion of an approved dialysis equipment maintenance training program required within six (6) months of hire.
Military Transferable Skills and Qualifications:
- United States Air Force Biomedical Equipment Maintenance Technician Training Program - Basic Course Graduate
- Successful completion of Career Development Course, Volumes 1 – 9
- Achieved “5-level,” Journeyman
- Army Medical Service Corps – Biomedical Equipment Specialist CMF 68a
