Position Description
We’re looking for a Vice President of Finance to help influence a generation for our dynamic, visionary, growing Chartwells Higher Education business, a member of The Compass Group. Chartwells provides food and nutrition services to over 250 public and private colleges and universities. This is a highly strategic and client facing role that reports into the Chief Financial Officer and is based in Rye Brook, NY.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to core vision, strategy and planning with emphasis on delivering disciplined growth.
- Support and advise the CFO as a strong business partner.
- Primary responsibility for managing the operational finance team for the sector.
- Participate in contract negotiations; new business presentations; client interactions.
- Promote, support and help deliver efficiency improvement opportunities across the sector.
- Continually challenge the status quo and look to provide added value.
- Continue to support the evolution of the finance team as a business value adding function.
- At all times maintain strong focus on corporate governance and compliance.
Qualifications
- 5-10 years of Senior Financial Management experience, successful track record.
- Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA a plus.
- CPA or equivalent accounting certification required.
- Prior experience as a senior financial leader within similar industry with multi-site business with one billion dollar plus revenue.
- Food service industry knowledge and experience is preferred.
- Public accounting and/or strategic consulting background a plus.
- Extensive experience with large transactions (Business Development/Contract Negotiation).
- Strong negotiation, communication and analysis skills required.
- Marketing savvy with commercial acumen.
- Hands-on experience with process improvement methodologies, project management, and change management strongly preferred.
- Travel throughout the US required (25%).
- Strong interpersonal, influencing, and leadership skills, with a foundation of managerial.
- Exceptional collaboration and team skills.
