This position is responsible for assisting the Sous Chef with overseeing culinary functions for a catering venue. You will manage and lead a team of associates and oversee all safety and sanitation as it pertains to the account. Additionally, as part of the culinary team, you will be responsible for the following:
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Sous Chef with managing cost controls and control expenditures for the account.
- Assist the Sous Chef with planning and creating menus.
- Produce and execute catering events.
- Roll out new culinary programs in conjunction with WPC marketing and culinary team.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Culinary Arts is preferred or equivalent professional experience
- Minimum of 5 years related experience in upscale food service operations
- Knowledge of food and industry trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation
- Ability to set up and distribute production sheets
- Supervisory, leadership, training, management and coaching skills
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Proficient computer skills to include; various computer programs, Microsoft Office programs, e-mail and the Internet
- Ability to lift, bend and carry up to 40 lbs.
- Knowledge of safe and sanitary food handling principles
- ServSafeâ or Department of Health certification a plus
