Bon Appétit Management Company - Who We Are


Bon Appétit Management Company, a subsidiary of Compass Group NA, is an on-site restaurant company offering full food-service management to corporations, universities, museums, and specialty venues. Based in Palo Alto, CA, we operate more than 500 cafés in 32 states for dozens of marquee clients. Our food is cooked from scratch, including sauces, stocks, and soups. (Salsa, too!) A pioneer in environmentally sound sourcing policies, we’ve developed programs addressing local purchasing, overuse of antibiotics, sustainable seafood, the food–climate change connection, humanely raised meat and eggs, and farmworker rights. We are currently searching for a Hospitiality Recruiter, to support the Bon Appétit account located in Mountain View, CA. Our food service, hospitality talent Recruiter is responsible for driving and deliveringall facets of successful recruiting throughout our campus for cafe, catering andmicro-kitchen teams. This will be achieved through the development of solid recruiting strategies to include: local recruiting plans, employing traditional sourcing strategies and resources as well as developing new, creative recruiting ideas. The food service, hospitality talent Recruiter will play a critical role in ensuring we are hiring the best possible talent.










POSITION OBJECTIVES:



In the performance of their respective tasks and duties all positions are expected to follow the following basic competencies:



  • Build an effective recruiting strategy for hourly and salaried employees.

  • Create a pipeline of qualified candidates.

  • Be a liaison for the on-boarding process.

  • Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision.

  • Interact professionally with other employees, customers and suppliers.

  • Work effectively as a team contributor on all assignments.

  • Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations.

  • Partner with the HR team to Build strategic solutions to meet our recruitment goals










MAJOR DUTIES/FUNCTIONS/TASKS:




  • Sources advertises, recruits, screens, conducts early stage interviews and administer pre-employment assessments, while tracking and communicatingwith candidates and hiring managers throughout the entire hiring process.

  • Selects, evaluates, and measures appropriate and effective sources for achieving a high level of qualified candidate traffic. Research and recommend new sources for active and passive candidate recruiting.

  • Utilizes and maximizes the Internet for recruitment. Posts positions to appropriate Internet sources. Utilize ATS to identify qualified candidates. Utilizes professional networking sites to identify and source candidates.

  • Works with the management team to ensure that all job openings are known.

  • Partners with the Senior Human Resources Manager on creating and revising job descriptions as needed.

  • Develops effective interview questions. Partners with hiring managers on interviewing best practices.

  • Develops consistent recruiting practices which attract the highest quality applicant pool while supporting the goals of the company.

  • Collaborates with local culinary schools to hire alumni..

  • Helps plan and execute on-site job fairs.

  • Attends job fairs looking for potential candidates.

  • Coordinates the on-boarding process with HR and management team.

  • Conducts reference checks.


Administration:



  • Develops and maintain recruitment report and files.

  • Schedules new employees for New hire Orientation and new hire paperwork.

  • Creates employment offers, and conduct background checks.










MINOR DUTIES:




  • Provides assistance to Senior Human Resources Manager with projects.

QUALIFICATIONS:



To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duties satisfactorily.   • 3 - 5 years experience as a Recruiter.

  • Food Service or Hospitality experience a must.

  • Strong attention to detail, communication and time management.

  • Ability to work well with all levels of staff.

  • Strong organizational, problem solving and analytical skills.

  • Able to manage multiple priorities and work flow

  • Ability to change directions quickly and to thrive in a fast paced environment

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) from a four-year college or university

  • SPHR or PHR certification a plus.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.

  • Ability to communicate in a clear concise manner.

  • Ability to prioritize and organize effectively.










LANGUAGE SKILLS:




  • Ability to speak, read, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English.

  • Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
